If you prefer to volunteer in a specific section of the Philadelphia area, please vote for that section in our Facebook poll. We will be looking at the top selected section first if or when we are given an option as to where our work site will be located. Thank you for your time and service!
Our organization of and participation in community service events allows the Penn State Alumni Association, Philadelphia Chapter to continue our mission of, “uniting and maintaining a network of Penn State alumni, while giving back to the community…”

Love Your Park Day, Spring Edition
Date: May 12, 2012
Time: 10 a.m.- noon
Place: Fairmount Water Works 640 Water Works Drive Philadelphia, PA 19130
Description: We will be at the Fairmount Water Works for the LOVE YOUR PARK WEEK May 12 Service Day! The workday begins at 10 a.m. and will be filled with much needed cleaning, tree care and gardening. Please bring your own work gloves if you have them (if not, no worries), a bottle of water to stay hydrated, and be dressed for work.
***Volunteers Must RSVP though this event or at service@psuphila.org AND visit the Love Your Park website and register to volunteer under the Group Name “Penn State Alumni”. Due to liability issues, we need every volunteer to register and agree to the liability waiver.***
Additional Information: LOVE Your Park is the biannual volunteer park clean-up day in Philadelphia with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and PHS. Volunteers will join us at a park work site to be determined and help the neighbors of that park to collect trash and recycling in parks and along the drives, plant trees and flowers, clean graffiti, etc.
Philabundance

Description: Volunteers will join other volunteer groups in sorting, stacking, and packing donated food to be distributed to food centers throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. Please wear sneakers. No open-toed shoes allowed in warehouse.
